Internationally renowned footballer Lionel Messi is teaming up with Disney for an exciting new project. His upcoming animated series, titled Messi and the Giants, is set to premiere on Disney Channel and Disney+ after being acquired by Disney Branded Television.

Series Overview and Anticipation

Initially announced in 2023, the series is now confirmed to debut at a future date on both platforms. Messi expressed his excitement about Disney’s involvement, stating, “I always dreamed of being part of a project that would convey the values of sports—values that have been crucial in my career—to younger generations. Teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and hard work make anything possible. I look forward to sharing this series with kids worldwide, hoping to inspire and motivate them to pursue their dreams. Plot Synopsis

According to the official description, the action-adventure animated series follows Leo, an ordinary 12-year-old boy with extraordinary talent facing a significant challenge. The once-flourishing world of Iko is in ruins, oppressed by the Giants who dominate the 10 realms. Only one hero can save them…and he’s the size of a flea. Young Leo is taken from another world to lead the fight against the tyrannical villains who have kept the 10 realms under their control.
