The Accursed Prince of Elbaph

Background

Loki is a prince of Elbaph who committed regicide by killing his father, King Harald, leading to his imprisonment and infamous reputation as the “Accursed Prince” or the “Shame of Elbaph.” He was once the arranged fiancé of Charlotte Lola before she ran away.

Physical Appearance

Loki is an enormous Giant, standing at least ten times the height of Luffy. He has long, light hair styled in twin braids at the front, while the back remains disheveled. His body is relatively lanky for a Giant, featuring long legs and muscular, tattooed arms. He sports a pointy goatee and a metallic shell over his nose, often leaving his tongue hanging out while speaking.

Like most Giants from Elbaph, Loki dresses in a Viking-like fashion. His attire includes a dark, wide-rimmed helmet adorned with long horns (the leftmost one secured with wrapping), as well as a dark ensemble of gloves, pants, boots, and a belt featuring a crowned Jolly Roger design worn over his abdomen. Loki’s eyes are covered in bandages, though it remains unclear if this is by choice or part of his punishment. As the prince of Elbaph, he was once deeply respected within the kingdom of giants, celebrated during the Winter Solstice Festival.

Relationships and Political Intrigue

Loki had the privilege to propose to the 23rd daughter of Charlotte Linlin, a figure despised by the giants. Despite their animosity towards Linlin, his subjects supported him wholeheartedly when he confessed his love to Lola. Linlin believed that a successful marriage would ease the giants’ resentment. However, when Lola escaped and Linlin attempted to pass off her twin Chiffon as a replacement, the giants’ respect for Loki only deepened their contempt for Linlin.

Fall from Grace

Currently, Loki is no longer held in high regard by his people; rather, he is viewed with scorn and fear. A few years ago, he murdered his father Harald to obtain a legendary Devil Fruit, resulting in his status as Elbaph’s greatest shame. For his crimes, Loki was sentenced to crucifixion, with Elbaph’s strongest warriors on high alert to prevent his escape.

Loki fell in love with Charlotte Lola at first sight, proposing to her despite her being the daughter of Charlotte Linlin. However, Lola did not reciprocate his feelings and ran away to seek true love. Loki’s affection for Lola goes beyond mere appearance, as he refused to marry Chiffon in her stead.

Strength and Abilities

As a Giant, Loki possesses considerable power, far exceeding that of an average person. Previously, as prince of Elbaph, he held significant authority and influence over the kingdom’s warriors and citizens, which is known to be the strongest kingdom in the world. This included the privilege of proposing to Big Mom’s daughter, which could have ended the giants’ resentment had the marriage been successful. However, following his criminal status and punishment, Loki no longer holds royal privileges.

Loki is an immensely powerful giant, requiring all of Elbaph’s finest warriors to keep him in check even while imprisoned. It is believed that he possesses enough strength to destroy the world if ever freed. He has consumed an unnamed, legendary Devil Fruit, the type and powers of which remain unknown.

Early Life and Tragic Choices

Loki was born on Elbaph 63 years ago, approximately ten months after the 5-year-old Charlotte Linlin was left on the island by her parents. Years later, he encountered Charlotte Lola, falling in love at first sight. In an attempt to mend her strained relationship with the giants, Lola’s mother, Linlin, arranged a marriage between them. However, Lola fled, seeking true love instead. Big Mom’s attempt to replace her with Chiffon was recognized by the giants, leading to the annulment of the wedding and further animosity between the two factions.

Later, Loki sought a legendary Devil Fruit passed down through generations of the royal family. This desire led him to conflict with his father, King Harald, resulting in Loki killing him to obtain the fruit. Captured by Elbaph’s military, Loki was sentenced to crucifixion. Although he nearly escaped at first, Elbaph’s strongest giants managed to restrain him.

Final Saga: Elbaph Arc

During the events of the Elbaph Arc, Luffy and his crew sensed a powerful presence within Elbaph’s mountains. This presence was revealed to be a chained Loki, who demanded to know Luffy’s name before introducing himself.
