Disney+ is set to increase its subscription prices once more, with the new rates taking effect in October 2024. This change comes just in time for the release of major titles like “Inside Out 2” and “Deadpool & Wolverine.”

Starting in October, the ad-free tier of Disney+ will cost $15.99 USD per month, more than double the $6.99 USD per month it cost at launch in late 2019. The ad-supported tier will also see a price hike, rising to $9.99 USD per month. Both tiers are increasing by $2 USD.

Hulu, another Disney-owned streaming service, is also seeing a price increase. The ad-supported tier will now cost $9.99 USD per month, while the ad-free tier will jump to $18.99 USD per month. The ad-supported tier is going up by $2 USD, and the ad-free tier is increasing by $1 USD.

ESPN+ is not exempt from the price hikes either, with its subscription cost rising to $11.99 USD per month. Additionally, the bundle that includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ will now cost $16.99 USD per month with ads or $26.99 USD per month without ads. The Disney+ and Hulu Duo plan and the newly introduced Disney+, Hulu, and Max bundle are the only plans that will not see a price increase.

To soften the blow of these price hikes, Disney has announced that Disney+ will be adding an ABC News live-streaming channel and a playlist specifically designed for preschoolers. Subscribers to the ad-free tier will also gain access to four additional playlists this fall.
