The Washington Commanders are facing injury concerns at the quarterback position.

Jayden Daniels Injury Update

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a left rib injury during the first quarter of the game against the Carolina Panthers. The standout rookie signal-caller exited the game and headed to the locker room for evaluation.

Initially, the Commanders deemed Daniels questionable to return, but he was later downgraded to out. After Washington’s 11-play, 85-yard field goal drive, Daniels walked off the field visibly in discomfort. The medical staff attended to him on the bench before he went into the blue tent for further examination.

After leaving the blue tent, Daniels attempted to throw passes along the sideline but seemed to still be in pain. Ultimately, the team’s medical staff escorted him to the locker room for further assessment.

Veteran Marcus Mariota stepped in as the replacement quarterback for the Commanders. At the time of Daniels’ exit, the Commanders were leading 10-0, and they extended their lead to 27-0 by halftime.

In the second half, Daniels returned to the sideline dressed in sweats and was seen smiling and waving to the crowd while the Commanders enjoyed a comfortable lead.
